ABOUT THE PRESENTATION:
This course will cover trends related to enrollment, Medicare spending, consumer buying habits and the healthcare delivery model; as well as issues, and legislation that have recently affected the Medicare market, along with some potential legislation to keep an eye on for the future.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER:
Tom Parkin graduated with a BS in marketing and an MBA from Northwest Missouri State University in 2009. He started in insurance shortly thereafter, selling for a well-known health insurance company. In 2011, he joined Senior Market Sales, as an Associate Marketing Coordinator and was promoted to Marketing Coordinator after five months and again in 2015 to Senior Marketing Consultant. His role is to recruit, develop, service, support, and manage relationships with agents and agencies, as well as maintain carrier relationships, train new hires, and teach CE. Tom believes it’s important to stay on top of industry and carrier trends and changes in order to know where to find the answers to the many questions that come across his desk. He must know not only products and the industry but also how to effectively sell Medicare products across various sales platforms.
Because of his great Medicare knowledge, Tom is able to help agents think outside of the box and look at different methods of doing business. With his support, agents are able to focus their time on growing their business. Tom enjoys the problem-solving aspect of his job, and nothing beats seeing his work pay off when agents are able to take their business to the next level.
Tom is originally from West Des Moines, IA, and currently resides in Omaha, NE. He enjoys sports, playing golf, reading a good book, cooking on his smoker, music, and traveling. But he especially enjoys spending time at home with his beautiful wife and three daughters.
